Forgiveness is an elixir.
Forgiveness is not condoning another person’s or your own actions. It is absolving the offender of their debt. If you are a Christian, it’s exactly what Christ did on the cross for mankind. His death absolved us of our debt from sin. When you release an offender from his or her offense you also start to release the pain. Then, you create a clearing in your life through forgiveness and you can begin healing and developing emotional health.
Forgiveness isn’t easy, but there are some tricks to help you forgive. It seems much easier to protect yourself from pain by holding on to the wall you create with anger. Forgiveness takes a commitment and desire to feel free. You may have to forgive repeatedly to set yourself free. It is a choice, not a feeling, but forgiving can generate new feelings of peace. I know you want more peace, love, empowerment and personal freedom in your life. You’ll never achieve it through taking poisonous anger. You’ll find it through the elixir of forgiveness.
